Exaggeration
Exaggeration presents the characters action in an extreme way for comedic or dramatic effect. It is not extreme distortion of a drawing, but more like, adding special actions to make the scene believable, not make them look stiff, but increase the appeal of the character. If used correctly, the emotion/action should enhance the scene and tell the viewers the action. This can be used to distort their facial features, expressions, poses, and actions.

Man runs in the shot looking scared. Then a mouse pops out of nowhere and his expression changes to scared to shocked by exaggerating his face expression and making his whole body float in the air and stretches them. Then he runs away from the shot. |
Solid Drawing
Solid drawing is basically adding weight, volume, solidity, and the illusion of three dimension to the drawing. You also need to think about how to pose your 3D character to apply balance and weight to your character. You should also avoid "twinning" which means having the pose to mirror the other side. Putting both hands in their pocket makes it look boring, make one of the arm waving and the other in their pocket. It makes it more realistic and look less stiff.
